On 21st August 2019, the MOU signing ceremony between the Yunnan Nest Investment Group, “Asia Pacific Cultural and creative Academy” (APCCA) and the Kaatsu International University held in the KIU campus. “Silk Route’ cultural show was also held successfully at KIU to welcome the guests.
Collaboration between, Yunnan Nest Investment group China and KIU, Asia pacific cultural and creative academy is recently launched by the Yunnan Nest Investment group, in Sri Lanka. The Managing Director of Yunnan Nest Investment group Mr. Sam Lu , CEO Mr Leland Lee, director of the Nest Lanka International Wipula Jayakody , Mr. Asela Prabath Dean of the “APCCA” and assistant secretary to the dean Mr. Isuru Madushan , were warmly welcomed by the KIU members of the Executive team, Deans, Heads of Departments and Professors.
Managing director Dr. Jagath Senavirathna from KIU, Vice chancellor professor Niluka Fernando, Mr. pradeep kumara,Director of faculty of management, Dr. Indrapala chandarasena, head of the Acupuncture Department, Mr. Harsha Chathuranga Registar of KIU, Miss Sashini kaldera head of the Academic department, Mr. Lakmal Ponnamperuma, Head of Department Psychology, Miss Hiranya Buddini head of the Health and science Department, Head of the nursing Miss Nisansala, head of the Department of Bio medical science Miss Nadeeka Ranadewa, conducted their speeches introducing their faculty environment.
Addressing at the MOU signing ceremony and “Silk Route” cultural show, Honorable Patali Champika Ranawaka (MP), Minister of megapolis and western development expressed his great honor to participate in this occasion as chief guest. And honorable Minister Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe Member of the Western Provincial Council, Honorable Thilak Ranaviraja presidential adviser, Mr. Thissa Hewawitharana Secretary for Minister of education, Mr. Kingsly Perera Coordinating secretary, Mr. M.W Jagath Kumara assistant secretary to the president, all attended the cultural show as the guests of honor.
APCCA and KIU will work together towards internationalization of education as the relationship tightens after the MOU signing . Both sides will commit on activities such as educational and academic exchanges, researches, lectures, symposia and other joined projects. In the future, APCCA will bring more Chinese universities to join the project so students can complete their degree using 3+1 module, that is, 3 years study in Sri Lanka and 1 year in a Chinese university. At the moment of the ceremony, the CEO Yunnan Nest Investment group Mr. Lee expressed sincere gratitude to everyone in KIU students, Executive team, Deans, Heads of Departments and Professors whose dedication and efforts had made significant contributions to this MOU signing ceremony and cultural show. With good will, clear ambitions and a strong commitment to work together, the APCCA looks forward to taking the next steps to collaborate with KIU and will be able to achieve fruitful results in the future performing Sustainable development in the education sector in both countries.
